Building a Sacred Women’s Circle

I was on a mission.

I longed to belong to an intentional community where I could grow spiritually, connect with like-minded individuals and raise the frequency of the planet. I yearned for communion with other women, where one could be authentic, and speak their truths without judgment. I wanted to find a venue where women could become channels for light and love, and manifest their unique lives unfettered by the opinions of others.

I had heard about sacred women circles, and I thought that was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately for me, I couldn’t find one to join.

I was once told that if you can’t find what you’re looking for, create it.

I took that advice to heart, and I approached a local metaphysical store that I frequented and discussed the idea with the owner. I had written an outline of what I had in mind, and she agreed it was needed. Fear niggled, and there were moments I wanted to back out, but I didn’t let that deter me. I moved forward, thinking that the universe had given me signs to begin, and I’d learned not to mess with the universe.

That first gathering day, I had no idea who would come. I knew I could end up sitting in the room alone, rather than attracting women in need of connection.

I also knew that it could be the beginning of something special, a commitment to soul growth and spiritual kinship.

That was close to a year ago. And yes, it started out slow, with only one or two showing up every month. But it has grown since then. We’ve become sisters in spirit, teachers for each other, exploring many different subjects, sharing details about our lives, our fears, our struggles, and our triumphs.

My original plan included an introduction, a meditation, a conversation, and a hands-on project. I bought a magic wand as a talking stick, to make sure everyone had time to speak without interruption. I didn’t need it. Listening to each other was automatic and every month the circle, made up of different people, needed a different approach. I’ve let it grow organically, and understand that there will be walk-throughs, women who feel the need to come just once, and a core group who come every month to support and encourage each other.

Women need other women in their lives, and it’s our time to shine. We’re awakening to our innate power, our intrinsic abilities to create and heal, and our light which cannot be extinguished, (And many have tried over the last few thousand years.)

We are spiritual beings dressed in human form, and remembering this is all we need to do to become more enlightened.

Until next time,

May we all fix each other’s crown before anyone realizes it’s crooked.
